On May 3, 2017 Wigdor LLP addressed a letter to the Chief Executive of U.K. regulatory authority Office of Communications (Ofcom) outlining the claims of various current and former employees of Fox, as well as retaliation committed by Fox against employees who complain about discrimination at the Company. Ofcom is currently reviewing the proposed acquisition of Sky PLC by Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc., under its “Public Interest Test.”
Founding Partner Douglas Wigdor, a New York based attorney who is also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, has provided information for Ofcom’s consideration regarding claims of gender and race discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Mr. Wigdor’s background representing former and current employees of Fox, as well as his education and professional ties to the U.K., gives him unique insight relevant to Ofcom’s review. Mr. Wigdor has asked to meet with the regulatory authority to further discuss issues raised in his letter.
Wigdor LLP currently represents 17 current and former employees of Twenty-First Century Fox and Fox News, including 11 who have filed a Class Action Complaint alleging race discrimination.
