On October 24, 2023, the Court denied completely Leon Black’s frivolous motion for sanctions against Wigdor LLP in Cheri Pierson’s case alleging that Black sexually assaulted and raped her in Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse.
Moments later, the Court issued a second decision, denying completely Leon Black’s motion to dismiss Pierson’s claims.
The Court also denied the Epstein Estate’s motion to dismiss the cause action against it for negligence saying that the Complaint “has made sufficient, specific allegations in the Complaint that Epstein knew or had reason to know that plaintiff could possibly be subject to harmful sexual activity by Black at Epstein’s home.”
Statement from Jeanne Christensen, Partner at Wigdor:
“Leon Black’s frivolous attempts to scare women who allege that he sexually assaulted them and to intimidate their lawyers failed completely today. We look forward to holding Black accountable in the currently pending cases against him.”
