New York Judge has ruled that former NRL player Matthew Lodge will not return to jail for the vicious attack carried out on Wigdor LLP clients Joseph Cartright, Ruth Fowler, and Carolyn Dekeyser. Wigdor LLP filed a lawsuit on behalf of our clients in December 2015, seeking damages for economic and emotional harm caused by Lodge’s rampage. Lodge attacked Joseph Cartright in his Upper West Side apartment building, after following two female residents home, and forcing his way into the foyer of the building. The Cartright family has suffered emotional distress in the aftermath of the attack.
Senior Associate Renan Varghese said the clients are “disappointed” at the decision to not send Lodge back to jail.
